A conductor is an object or material that can allow the flow of electricity, light, sound or heat with minimum resistance. In this picture,I am holding a knife. The knife is a conductor and the holder is an insulator.
An insulator is something that is used to keep heat or sound contained, or something that does not conduct electricity. In this picture , I'm putting something in the microwave oven. The door and the glass of the oven keep the heat inside so that the food will be heated.
A semiconductor is a substance, usually a solid chemical element or compound, that can conduct electricity under some conditions but not others, making it a good medium for the control of electrical current. In this picture you can see me holding a tapper ware.Tapper wares are plastics. It can sometimes conduct electricity but sometimes it cannot.
